Al-Azm Alliance Reaffirms Support for Government Formation and Reserves Position on Political Council Decisions
Al-Azm Alliance, during a meeting chaired by Muthanna Al-Samarrai, reaffirmed its support for the formation of the upcoming government while expressing reservations regarding decisions attributed to the Political Council without actual consensus among its members.
Al-Azm Alliance held a meeting chaired by engineer Muthanna Al-Samarrai to discuss recent political developments and matters related to the formation of the upcoming government. Participants emphasized their full support for the government formation process and efforts to accelerate its completion in a way that ensures political stability and serves Iraq’s national interests.
The attendees stressed the importance of continued coordination among political forces and creating a suitable environment for completing constitutional obligations, contributing to the strengthening of state institutions and maintaining stability during the upcoming phase.
The alliance also expressed concern over attempts by certain parties to exploit decisions or positions attributed to the Political Council and present them as representing consensus among its members despite the absence of actual agreement. It warned that such practices could negatively affect the political understanding required during this sensitive period.
At the same time, Al-Azm Alliance affirmed that it is not currently engaging in any actions or positions that may increase political tension or further complicate the political landscape, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing national interests and creating suitable conditions for the swift formation of the government.
